In decaying hearts, where darkness lies,
Inhumanity, a cruel disguise.
Supremacy, a fleeting claim,
Yet kindness reigns, a higher aim.
No glory dwells in hearts of stone,
Empathy, the truest throne.
To rise above, in love we find,
Humanity, the noble bind.
Not in cruelty, strength is shown,
But in compassion fully grown.
In every soul, a spark of grace,
In unity, we find our place.
This blog contains simple, thought provoking and deeply reflective poetry written by American poet, Doris Trueheart. Here is a large expanse of her poems covering a myriad of topics reflecting her heart.
